I’m April Ruthen-Gough, and I’ve organised this event to raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

They provide an important service by providing high quality care for people with terminal illness. Each £20 raised will pay for one hour of a nurses time spent tending to the specific needs of patients and their close family in the comfort of home.

This year, Marie Curie Cancer Care will help around 25,000 patients in the community and at their local hospices, completely free of charge. Marie Curie Cancer Care cares for almost half of all cancer patients who die at home in the UK.

Please sponsor a duck for this worthy course.

I’m also one half of ‘China Dollies’, in a bid to walk the Great Wall of China !

Myself and Nancy Ruthen (The China Dollies) are a mother and daughter team who are seeking support in conquering the Great Wall of China in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

After living on opposite sides of the world (in Australia and Canada) for the past decade, we decided it was time to spend some good quality time together and what better way than to share our common passion of trekking on one of the world’s most amazing landmarks for a worthwhile cause such as cancer care’ says April. ‘We expect there will be some sweat, blisters and tears along the way but we will be able to share the greatest satisfaction when we succeed’.
